Work life balance

We recognise that people are more likely to be motivated in their career if they are also fulfilled individuals.

Your personal life

Juggling the demands of your life outside work and your career ambitions can be difficult. That's why we encourage employees to find the balance between work and personal life in a way that best meets their needs.

Usually the people who want more flexibility are parents, but not always. Whatever your reason, we'll do everything we can to find a solution that suits you at the same time as meeting the requirements of the company.

The way we work

There are other, less obvious areas where we've changed the way we work to encourage a better quality of life.

Travelling to meetings costs money, impacts the environment and takes people away from their homes. That's why we have introduced effective ways for teams to communicate and share information remotely. These include virtual meetings, videophones and online collaboration environments. We also have new generation videoconferencing that's so real it's like meeting face to face.

Wellbeing

Our Personal Vitality campaign is part of our employee wellbeing programme for everyone in the company. On the one hand we look to promote wellbeing in terms of body-fitness by focusing on nutrition, health, hygiene and personal care. This includes health assessments and opportunities for physical activity.

On the other we focus on fitness of heart, mind and spirit by helping people manage their personal energy and resilience, engage with local communities and achieve a better work-life balance.

To support the initiative we have produced guides that provide advice, online learning modules and local activation ideas.
