My proudest moment at Unilever
Making a difference
In my previous role as in Risk Management in 2007, we took kids from the Thokomala orphanage out for a day to Ushaka. We went to the dolphin show and aquarium and ended the day with lunch at Wimpy. When we dropped them off we gave them an individual present, relevant to their age and gender. To see the smiles on their faces, they were happy enough to have been taken out, they didn't expect gifts, especially personalised ones! One of the kids even cried, as he had never been shown such love before. It was honestly one of my proudest moments...to know that in some way, we made a difference in their lives, even if just for a day.Career Highlight
Career Highlight
I'd say my career highlight to date would be a business case I worked on, to bring an international premium Ice Cream brand into the country and working out it's viability. This happened just after my move to Category Accounts, so it was my first major project and I got to work with people from Unilever America and Australia. This experience helped me gain a global perspective and mindsetm which I believe is crucial when working towards being a business leader.
